i want to put cutouts on a vehicle with measly 1.75" pipes (and i dont feel like changing it to 2.25) but anyway all the cutouts i see online are for 2.25 and up.
can i use a step clamp?
or is there something i can use to easily adapt the 1.75 to a 2.25 cutout?
thanks
if you do find or have heard of a cutout that specifically fits 1.75" pipes (doubt it) please give me the link

I have no idea what you mean by a cutout. But most exhaust shops can flare exhaust pipes out, from 1.75-2.25" isn't a problem.

the reason cutouts aren't sold for smaller exhausts is because they aren't needed. If you have a car that "needs" cutouts, chances are you've exceeded the HP capacity of a larger exhaust.
If you want a cutout, check JCwhitney. If you NEED a cutout, check Summit Racing.

Summit sells a cable controlled exhaust valve. Basically, you just install a "T" in the exhaust before the muffler and install the valve on the "T". Closed, it's quiet, open you have straight pipes.

Traditionally, cutouts were an old hotrodder thing. You would divert the exhaust through the rocker panel mounted lakepipes. Also the ones that let out under the rearmost edge of the front fenderwells are cool too.
If you let the gases out under the vehicle, you put yourself and anyone in the car in danger.

Cut outs are for High displacement and forced inducted cars that don't hurt from loss of back pressure. If your running a 1.75 pipe you most likely are running a 4 or a small 6 cylinder... You don't need a cut out thats just $ out the window and maybe hp too...
