What type of amp do I need to power 2 JL audio 10" subs, peak power, handling of 1000 watts and what's the difference between mono and other channel amplifiers.

The RMS Watts rating of the subs is the more important number to consider than the Peak number.

mono amps are typically designed to play lower impedance loads with high power. If you get a class D, they are more efficient too. Multi-channel amps are better suited to playing mids, tweets, coaxes and the like.

What is the RMS rating of each sub, how many voice coils and what is the impedance of each VC ?
