Ok, I have a 5 speed fuel injected 84 chevy camaro. I am learning more and more about my car. However, I was wondering what kind of gas mileage a car like mine can get. I have contacted alot of people, and yet they still can't give me a straight anwser. If anyone knows, please e-mail me at: [email protected]. This will help me out so much.

so is this spam or for real? ill just answer it lightly and you can come back to ask more if its for real.

i got maybe 15- on my TPI 350 engine with a automatic trans..
on my LT1, i get less than 13. btoh arent in GREAT tune, sadly..and apparently in good tune and driving it without a lead foot + highway mile you'll actually get decent mileage (20~ish)

23mpg highway in my 305 TPI auto. Switched to all mobil 1 synthetics.

Have you checked the mpg since you got the car? It would also help if you would tell us what engine you have instead of being so vague.

Ehhh, other than the 305 Crossfire there wasnt' a EFI in '84. TPi debuted in later 85's. :2cents:

1984 didn't have the crossfire, it was dropped that year. The 2.5 L 4 banger was FI. There was a 2.8 L 6 banger (carbed) and a 305 with a carb.

The 1983 Camaro's could be had with crossfire or the 1984 Corvette (there was no 83 Corvette).

sorry for being so light on the details. It's a 305 i believe. My boss is working on it.

If it is an injected V8, it is a transplanted engine and if it has the original T5 transmission, it is living on borrowed time. The T5's of that time couldn't take the torque of the factory 305 TPI's until the WC (world class) T5 was introduced in later 87.

That's what I thought, but wasn't overly confident. Something kept telling me a handful did get out there somehow :dunno:
