drooping caprice sun visor

I have 1989 caprice . The right sunvisor with lighited vanity mirror will not stay up. I have tried tighting the screw,but did not work. Looking for a solution. Thanks Tom.

I've seen some customers do a quick repair with velcro on both the headliner and sun visor that seems to work. Just remember that the velcro is there when you attempt to lower the sunvisor to use the vanity mirror or to block out the sun.

Also if you find a good parts person at a gm dealer their are a few cars (i forget which ones) that take a replaceable plastic bushing that goes on the shaft of the visor. This will restore the tension and make it like new.

I do belive there are only two different bushings though, a small one and a larger one. We use to keep them in stock and sometimes they would fit cars they were not meant to fit. The bushing's were a dollar or two.

Here is what they look like but i do not recall the part number it has been over 4 years since I worked at a dealership.
