Power Steering issue

I just bought a 93 Intrepid for my girlfriend and the guy I bought it off of said it had a power steering issue. I was told that some times it just cuts out like when turning into a parking stall. He said that it was an electrical issue but I think it is the pump. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

ive been told these cars have bushing problems with the rack....but it does sound like a pump problem to me...i dont think these steering systems are eletronically assisted but im not sure so dont quote me on that....good luck
