Please help me, I own a 2002 grand am with about 120,000 miles 2.2 engine. I was driving down the highway and all of a sudden it just died no spit sputter or nothin just like i turned the key off. I pulled over and tried starting it again and it just cranks. I tried the passlock thing but nothing. and the security light stays on and doesnt go off if i put the key in and turn it to the ON position but it will go off if I try to crank it then leave it in the ON position. I have a full tank and I have fuel at the fuel rail, no fuses are blown. Does anyone know of something I can try Please help me

Welcome to AF.
First I would check the fuses, thiers several under the hood for the ignition system, injectors, etc etc.
If those are all good, then get your fuel pressure checked. Also when was the last time the fuel filter was changed ??
If you security light is on all the time or flashing then you have other troubles and might require the stealership to get it going.
Might try the security relearn and see if that helps.
Security relearn procedure:
1) Attempt to start the car by turning the key to the Start/Run Position.
2) Observe that the vehicle fails to start and that the security light is illuminated.
3) Release key to the 'ON/Accessory' Position. (DO NOT turn key to the 'off' position.)
4) Allow the vehicle to sit with the key in the 'ON/Accessory' Position for no less than 11 minutes.
5) Turn key to off position and allow the vehicle to remain in the 'OFF' position for no less than 30 seconds.
6) Repeat #1 - #5 for 3 cycles.
7) On 4th attempt, car should start.
NOTE : Since this is a fairly long procedure, I would limit all electrical sources, such as disconnecting headlights, to prevent discharge of battery.
NOTE 2 : It is SAFE to wait LONGER than the allotted time, but it is not safe to wait less time. I.e. 12 minutes instead of 11 minutes should be safe; however, waiting 10 minutes instead of 11 minutes is not safe.
Properly executed, this procedure should take approximately 35 minutes to complete
Hope that helps and Happy Easter !
