How to replace the front wheel stud

Just want to share my experience replacing the front wheel studs. My tire technician overtoqued my front wheel lug nuts and I could not undo one of them. In the process of undoing the lug nut, I broke the stud bolt. I thought it would be difficult to replace one of those. As it turned out it was pretty simple. I tapped the broken stud with a hammer and it popped right out. A little problem I had was that there was no opening in the back (the other side of the brake disc) to install a replacement bolt. I had to undo the caliper, just undoing the bottom fastener that is holding the caliper and loosening the top fastener, you can swivel the caliper out of the way. With the caliper out of the way, now you have room to install the stud bolt. :wink:
