99 civic cx

Ive got a 99 civic cx hatch with a d15 vtec that has almost 400k miles on it. I just bought an OBD2 SOHC VTEC D15B. 1) It looks like they sent me the automatic version. How hard is it to switch to a manual trans or should I send it back to get the right one? 2) If that is possible will my ecu work the second vtec? If not, I was told that you could wire it so they would kick in at the same time. Is this true and how do you do it?
