i have a 2002 chevy silverado 6.0 and i took it to get checked out by dealer because it would die and fuel pump would not run. they said it was the fuel pump so i put one in and it does the same thing. when it dies it will not start for at least five minutes. Some times it will run longer then other times between spells. Could it be a relay or ecm? Any suggestions?

Check for power to the relay. If you have it there, follow the wires to the pump. If not, follow the wires to the ECM. Also, did you check/clean the ground when you replaced the pump?

Mine has been doing the same thing lately, its too cold out to check it out now so all I have been doing is tapping the relay, and its fine for however long.....Not sure if the relay is going bad or the terminals in the connecter are loose. It would be a place to check.........

It was the ground. I haven't had any problems since. Thanks
