Didn't very much care for his show as a child but still it is a loss which ain't very cool.

Mr. Rodgers (in my opinion) was a fine example of humanity. He was kind and gentle on his show as well as in real life, and he did his part to help provide children with something more substantial than most of the rubbish that's broadcast over the air-ways. He realized that despite it's obvious flaws, television could be used to teach and nurture children rather than just entertain and pacify them.

I enjoyed his show when I was young, and the fact that he did it for more than 30 years is amazing in itself. It's also nice to know that his reputation was never scarred due to any kind of pedophilia accusations.

R.I.P. I think a lot of us older :( people will be mournful almost as if we lost a relative:( I wish his family all the best because he gave all of his best to those of us that would accept it. May he receive eternal peace and kindness.:grey:

I don't know if this is true, but I heard he was a sniper in the military. I'm not sure if it was US or a foreign countries military, but that's what I heard. I also heard that the reason he always wore sweaters was because he had alot of tatoos.

a large loss in the world. he was a great, kind human being. i always remember watching his show...he will be sadly missed. RIP.

A damn fine native Pittsburgher has passed-on. :( He will surely be missed. I used to love his show. It was always on right after or before Sesame Street. Needless to say, lil Tangie could be pacified for an hour during that programming.

As for the assholes who have been making fun of his tenderness (i.e. cracking "Michael Jackson-ish jokes), you can all be certain that you won't be going where Fred Rogers has gone. :mad:

I grew up watching him:(

My wife and I watched the spot on Dateline last night, and we both ended up crying. :(

He must have been the nicest guy, ever.
