Why won't all CD changers work?

I'm on the brink of taking a car home (have the papers signed, etc.). When I went to BestBuy and used their 'car configurator' to make sure that the cd changer I wanted fit, it said it didn't :disappoin
So... are they lying :icon16: or are there really cd players that just won't fit? Doesn't make sense to me because they are all the same size :iceslolan

I think it may just be that some cd players are fatter and/or longer than other cd players. If the one you want is smaller than your stock cd player you can make it fit but it will take some bracing etc and wont be as easy as getting one that you can just bolt up. U can also make one thats bigger fit but it may require some custom mounts and maybe some cutting.
Dont quote me on this, I just know there can be size issues i dont know if there can also be other issues...

are you talking about a cd changer, or an in dash unit? cause you could mound a cd changer pretty much anywhere you want, the in dash can be mounted with a kit unless you're trying to stuff a double din in a single din hole, best buy has no idea what the hell is going on, they're just after your money

Yes, it is indash that I'm looking at.
I was able to find a great site that has helped me greatly through all of this www.crutchfield.com (http://www.crutchfield.com) They have a car configurator too like bestbuy, but actually allows you to use your car as a criteria.
I found a great cd player there that will fit... I'm a little nervous installing it myself. It's not that I'm not capable... I just don't want something to go wrong. I wouldn't know what to do then
