My rodeo quit for first time after 208K. It quit on my after it was running 10 miles and would not start. I let it sit for 3 hours, it started right up. It idled for approx. 2 min. and quit. I let it sit for about an hour and it started right up. I listened to the fuel pump and it was humming and then suddenly stopped with the engine stalling right after. It ran for approx 2-3 min. My question is Does the fuel pump quit to protect itself if it gets too hot? Where is the best place to get a fuel pump? O Reilly's or Car Quest?

I had to get mine at the dealer for around $400 I believe.

It was the fuel pump. When I loosened the gas tank bolts the tank started to leak so I went to the junk yard and got a tank and fuel pump. I put them in and everything is working fine again. After 208k miles just about every bolt snaps off making the job 10X harder, especially the sending/fuel pump unit. Alot of drilling and tapping. Also found out that the fuel tank filler hose is discontinued after I cut it off because I was unable to twist it off by hand. Hopefully the used pump works a long time, luckily I only have $55 in it so far.
