Well im currently using the ultra-white Silverstar bulbs for my headlights and foglights, the foglights seem like a waste because the blowup ALL the time.. and as far as i can tell there not even that white compared to the newer cars, but really i've seen a couple Gp's (1997+) mines a 99, and they have like ultra blue or just bluer headlights/foglights or even green for the matter. What bulbs are they using? do you need mods to have them? i currently already have an amp for my neon underglow kit, so will getting these blue lights require more amplifying? also just got new headlights so there very shiny/clear. Any info would be great!

Thanks in advance,

Kyle.

in my opinion, the blue/greenish bulbs are junk. if you want a decent bulb...i would look into the Sylvania Silverstars.

if you really wanna go all out, and wanna spend $120.00, check this (https://www.zzperformance.com/grand_prix/products1.php?id=617&catid=101) out. i have this kit on my GTX, and it is flat out AWESOME. very very bright, and pretty much plug and play.

i see it is out of stock right now, but i'm sure they will get a shipment soon....

There is actually a bulb out there that is better than the outdated Sylvania Ultra's. No doubt they are good bulbs but there are better for only a little more ( or less from the right place). Eurodezigns Ultra. They are $79 from the company but some folks have them on ebay for a little less. Also for anyone reading this, search that site for the Sylvania's as well. Not trying to promote anything just figured everyone could save a little here and there. But the eurodezigns bulbs are a 6000k xenon halogen that produces a whiter light than the sylvania and also puts out more lumens. Also DOT approved which means a lot to me. The blue lights shouldn't need any amplifying. They are nothing more than a halogen bulb with xenon gas inside. If you get them, make sure they are DOT approved and that the voltage matches the voltage on the stock bulbs. If they don't you could burn up your wires. But you could upgrade your wiring harness and get more light out of the bulbs.

Hey guys, I have 94 cavailer with pliot headlight bulbs (hid lookalike) and i love them. I have had the car for two years, and only had to replace them once. They are just as bright as most hid kits that you can buy. I only pay about 20-30 dollars for a pair. I had the silverstar lights and they dont compare.I have a great color and i can see alot better, in town and on the highway. The best bang for your buck, Thats just my opinion.

Actuatly i have been looking into the Eurodesigns Ultra, because where i got my neon underglow kit they had them. i asked the sales rep about them but he told me there wouldn't be much of a different between the sylvania ultra / euro ultra.

As far as i can tell these should work for my car:

Q: Why should I purchase EuroDezigns bulbs?A:Our lights are the absolute best money can buy. Our 8500K rating is not only on our label but in our bulbs. Other companies may claim to have 8500K ratings, or even higher. Stop and ask yourself this; if they have it, why is it not on their label? Try EuroDezigns bulbs in your vehicle for 1 week, you will see the difference. If your not 100% satisfied, send them back, we will refund your winning auction minus our shipping expenses.

To be honest theres alot of choices for xenon lights off of ebay, very few need kits for them to work, anyone ever tried these bulbs i listed above?

They are all similar on ebay of the xenon bulbs. As long as you just get a xenon bulb, you will need to do nothing except swap the bulbs out. Between the two listed, personally I would choose eurodezigns due to them being dot approved. Obviously you are looking for blue bulbs and you may get pulled over at some point for them (cops are assholes!). You could get a ticket for having one that is not approved but having one that is and having some sort of proof on you could save you some time and money. Also the 8500k bulbs may not put out as much light as you want. Check out a color temperature scale and you will see after like 5500k, lumens (light output) is lost. And the salesman that said sylvania and the euro ultra are the same is wrong and obviously knew nothing about them. The euro's have a truer white and also more light output.

Thanks for input Accuab, im gonna order the euro bulbs, but right now im currently having an issue with p0303 (cyclinder 3 misfire) swaped the wire/plug ran fine for awhile now it's back, so im gonna try the coilpack, if that doesn't work then im assuming pcm.. as i can't seem to reset the Change oil soon light, and i've also had issues with the EGR being stuck closed, all controlled by the pcm. Where abouts is the pcm located in the 3800 II?

The PCM is located inside the airbox (the box containing the air filter). I don't remember exactly how to get to bacause I put on a ram air intake which required removing the airbox, but I think you just unclip two clips holding it together and pull out the filter and you should see the pcm at that point. It is helpful to unclamp the intake hose and remove it because it allows you to completely remove the smaller side of the airbox. Just make sure you watch out for the IAT sensor (located on the intake tube).

Gotcha thanks alot, i have swapped the coilpack/wire/plug and now the ses light is gone rescanned and deleted the the old p0303 code, but now im getting stumbling (misfiring) under high-load or going uphill, no other DTC's detected yet, what else can i do?

The spark control unit under the packs has been known to go bad on the 3800's so you might want to check that out.

Im assuming you mean the ICM? I still have my 99 engine for parts which does have all the coilpacks icm / egr , etc. maybe ill swap that over too.
