Confused wipers

My 95, 3.8l sometimes has issues with its wipers. :runaround: There doesn't seem to be an apparent pattern to the wipers working and not working consistently. :banghead: When they have a problem, they park in the up position when you turn it off or have it on intermitent. :screwy: The only way I can get it to park correctly, when acting this way is to try to trick it by turning it off mid cycle or sometimes turning off and on the vehicle and a combination of switch posiitions. :shakehead Turning off the vehicle alone will not reset the wipers to work correctly. It has been suggested that the clutch is to blame. At this point I have no reason to believe that is the cause as it is not consistently a problem. It also has been suggested that the wiper switch is to blame because of dirty or worn contacts. I know what that is like as I have that problem on another car, so I know I don't have that either. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

Start by making sure all the wiper motor grounds are clean and tight. Next would be to open the motor assembly and check for bad solder joints and worn mechanicals, or just replace the motor assembly.
