1998 villager exhaust

1998 villager got in a spinout during an ice storm, and broke the exhaust system at the back end of the resonator. My question is would I just be able to put a piece of straight pipe in place of the resonator or will I have to totally replace the resonator. thanks

Maybe a muffler shop could weld it for you?? Just a thought
