So the search feauture hasn't been working for me so if this was asked already then I apologize in advance. :uhoh:
Anyways, what's a good battery brand? I was originally gonna get an Optima one but since they don't have any blue top batteries for cars then I was just gonna go with an all black one to match my engine bay color scheme a bit better. Are all batteries the same? :p

If you're not putting the battery in the car then there is no need for a sealed battery like an Optima. Why did you want the blue top, just because of the color? The blue top is built for shock resistance that boats have to deal with.
Anyhow, I love my red top Optima and you can't beat the warranty. Jut don't let it discharge as they are never the same afterwards. However, if that happens they will replace it no questions asked.
Oh, and no, not all batteries are the same.

^^Yeah, I initially wanted the blue top to match the color scheme of my engine bay (if it ever gets completed that is -- fingers crossed :(). But since they only have the blue top for boats, I'd rather go with a black top than have a red/yellow under there.
Anyways, I was thinking of an Exide brand. Never heard of 'em but I figured if Nascar uses them, then they must be good!?!
This one: http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?MfrCode=EXI&MfrPartNumber=75DTM108&PartType=5005&PTSet=A
or maybe this one if the first one isn't good (not sure about spending $200.00 on a battery though):

What do you guys think?

i've got a wal-mart everstart and it hasnt let me down yet...even letting it sit all winter, kept a good charge and the car fired right up.
I'm not saying buy the cheapest you can find, but i dont think there;s any need to spend $100 on a battery unless you've got some subs or something else causing excessive drain. I've heard great things about interstate.

I had an optima in my stealth for over 2 years. But it was gettin to the point that when the car would sit overnight the battery was dead the next morning. Even jumping this bastard wouldnt bring it to life. Id had to be recharged for a few ours just to get it to turn over again. But when they are new i can crank my system for a couple ours with the car off an it will hold its voltage. But i guess there are just like any other battery, dont last forever.

Did you even let it discharge, even once? If so then it will most likely do that. Optima would have give you another one for free.
