Just got a call from my wife so I haven't had a chance to take a look at the problem. When she started the van this morning it made some clicking sounds and then the ABS and brake warning lights stayed on. I had her stop the thing and turn it off then on again. She said it made the same clicking sounds but the lights turned off. Then seconds later turned on again. The thing runs fine and seems to have no other symptoms. Any guesses out there? Oh and she also said the clock time was reset after first starting it. Thanks for any help.

That was easy. She got to the health club and when she wanted to leave it was completely dead. No engine cranking, no headlights, just some faint clicking sounds. I left work, stopped home to pick up some tools and a voltmeter and headed out. Found a varying voltage at the fuse block from 2 to 6 volts. Removed all the crap to get to the battery and put the probes directly on the battery. A steady 12.68 volts there. Checked the positive connection and it felt tight but loosened very easily. Tightened it up and we were good to go. Another expensive tow and diagnostic at the local shop averted.

Glad to hear you fix worked. Don't you love getting to that battery by removing all that cr*p. Wait till you have to remove the cross support on one end and move it over in order to remove the battery some day like I had to on my '97.

Anyway, I would still take the Ad venture to Auto ZOne and have them check the entire charging system just to be sure.

I was getting a check engine light a week or two ago, didn't worry about it too much, and then my van did not start, no click, click, click, etc, or previous signs of trouble starting. Had to take that battery out and had it checked out and turned out fine. Turns out it was the original starter that finally went at 165K. Had to have it towed, but luckily when it died it was in my driveway. You can't time that luck again.
