Hi Guys,
I just recently bought a dealer edition Bentley Continental GT in black and it was the most i've spent on a single model. I felt a bit stupid spending so much money on a "toy" but i trust that when i see it in person, it would be everything i imagined it to me, or atleast i HOPE anyway.
So my question is, what is your most expensive model (how much?) and how do you guys justify it? Of course, minus the fact that some of you are trillionaires and all.
Thanks!
Gary

A GMP black '93 Mustang Cobra...it was around $90, but the thing is sooooo detailed. Plus I drive a black '92 Mustang that's nearly identical to the model, so it has a sort of sentimental value to me.

I have three models from CMC and one from BBR but the most expensive one was the Ferrari 500 F2 from CMC. It was €235 (around 370 US dollars). The second expensive was CMC's Ferrari 250GTB SWB (€225), the third expensive was CMC's Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren (€215) and last but not least a Ferrari 375 Plus from BBR (€149).

The most that I've paid for any of mine would be my Franklin Mint Rolls Royce Silver Ghost at $120 + shipping.
I bought it in 1987...

Mine so far is my Lexus GS430 from AutoArt
It retails for around $70 for the regular model. I have a limited edition model, but I honestly don't see the difference. Anyways, mine retailed for $75 but I got it for $50. :D

The most i've ever dished out would be about $65-ish for a 1/43 Spark 2005 Pescarolo Judd. I found it justifyable because I watched close to 17 hours of the total 24 hour race.

Like ZL1 it depends on what you have paid and what they are worth now.
Paid is the 1/18 Bentley 4.5 Ltr 1930 Le Mans car
Worth is the 1/18 #28c Holden Torana XU1 1972 Bathurst winner

I've got two 1/43rds that are my most expensive. When I purchased them (about a decade ago), they were "insanely" expensive at $120-ish each. I've got a 1941 Chrysler Newport Dual Cowl Phaeton Indy Pace Car and the 1991 Bugatti EB110 prototype.

I spent US$80 on dale jr.'s number 8 bud car last year when i went to florida.
I live in the uk, and to be honest that was the best large amount of money ive spent.
Brilliant detail!

1/18 - 'MotorMax' Lexus Ls 430 [2002]
**dont laugh, cost of the car ~27$ USD, but shipping sucks for us Canadians, ~27$ USD as well as the current exchange rate... :crying:
All in all i paid ~62$ CAD [at the time] A nice model i am a huge fan it is the Pearl White car, very factory similar color. I am currently modifying it.
1/43 - 'Del Prado' Bmw M5 [e34; blue] paid ~30€, with shipping.

My most expensive is the Miura SVR Jota that i just bought. it was $87US.
Next would be the Countach LP5000 QV that i bought in the same order. $83US.
Those 2 were the most expensive only because of the exchange rate recently. Had i bought them when the Canadian dollar was around 90 cents my most expensive would have been my Veyron Concept. It was $100CAN.

AutoArt Limited Mazda 787B. Think I spent about $110 CDN, but I'm pretty sure it's worth more than that. I love this kit.

.. about $580usd...
Wow....I think that is tops so far. I think the most I payed for a diecast was the 1st release Duesenberg. I got it when I was little. Somehow...was more than the $175 that store is selling for.
http://www.diecast.org/diecast98/html/asp/list_reviews/xq/ASP/id.XK61/qx/reviewpix.htm
But all together, most I have payed for a diecast model was $300 for a 1/12 scale STi motor....

Other than that....I have too much shit, at random prices.

Hi, I'm new here, my most expensive die-cast car is a Franklin Mint 1967 Corvette in 1:12 scale at 500 dollars followed by a Kyosho Shelby Cobra 427/SC 1:12 scale at 450 dollars. I don't have any regrets since they are well made in all aspects, lots of working features, looks like the real thing.
