I live in Tallahassee, FL and for those who don't know, I have an '06 sport wagon with about 15k miles. I was down at the toyota dealership looking at a new prius :banghead: today and the Sales manager all but said he didn't want my trade. "There isn't a market for that kind of thing" -lol. Have any of ya'll traded in subies before? Any advice if I have to sell it outright?

For some reason non-Subaru dealerships don't like to take Subaru vehicles. I went through the same hell when I wanted to trade my Wife's Forester in for a Mazda3 some years ago.

Your best bet is to go to a Subaru dealership and get them to give you a Subaru guaranteed trade in on paper. Tell them you'll think about it and then use that as leverage at other dealerships.
Just tell them that if they want your business, they'll have to match that the Subaru dealership is offering on a trade or you'll go to Subaru and get a new car.

I don't think I could say that with a straight face. Have you seen the '08 WRX?? I was thinking about trading the car up in Billings, Montana about 5 months ago for an STI but thought better of it after I drove it. They were absolutely drooling over my car. The dealer here is telling me I should probably drive up to Tennessee or something to get rid of my car. You might be right about the dealers just not liking Subaru though. The Acura dealer next door has an '07 WRX TR with 20k and no options with a sticker of $23,995. That is pure insanity. Love the avatar BTW freakray.
