Is it alright to use synthetic ATF+4 fluid in a newly rebuilt transmission rather than the regular ATF+4 transmission fluid?

You'd better check with the dealer on that one. Those trannies are so dang finicky that I'd want to be darn sure before I tried anything but what is required.

I know what the dealer will say, they will always push their products no matter what.

I cannot imagine Valvoline making a synthetic ATF+4 transmission fluid that would mess the transmission up. Really hard to find out if there is even an advantage in synthetic over regular fluid?

Went to Wal-Mart and they had Mopar ATF+4 synthetic fluid. Didn't know Mopar used synthetic fluid but it was manufactured by Chrysler. So, I guess synthetic is fine on a rebuild, but you would have to completely drain the tranny and torque converter to change over to synthetic because I would not mix the two.

Correct. You might check the data on http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/.
There should be all the info you need.

Let us know what you find out.

FYI all ATF+4 is synthetic. That's one reason Chrysler transmission life has improved lately. The other reason is that transmission coolers have been added.
