I got a 1998 chevy metro with 223000k miles, and I want to drop a remanufactured engine in it, I do have some mechanical skills, but never done an engine swap, it is not my main source of transportation, so I want to take my time with this project. any advice on how to go about it. 98 chevy metro 3 cylinder, 5 spd. exchange old engine for remanufacture longblock engine......thanks

What's wrong with the engine you have? You can replace rings, valves on this engine without the work of pulling the engine.

Buy a service repair manual for your car. http://www.books4cars.com/

They have one for a 98 metro for $60.

If you buy a new engine, be sure it's for a 96 or newer.
