I'm sorry, all I see is GLARE :disappoin
If you're going to properly retrofit HID's into a car, use projectors. Reflector housings are not designed for those. I don't care how low you aim the lights to prevent blinding oncoming traffic, that still doesn't make them any safer. Any 15 y/o kid can put some HID's in their car. It takes a real stand-up person to go the extra step to safely equip them with projectors.

I'm sorry, but that is not a cutoff at all. That is all glare. This on the otherhand, is a cutoff:

Try taking a picture that far back and see if you have similar results.

No idea, wouldn't matter either way because that is what a projector does. It creates a proper beam cutoff like shown.
Here's a video that explains why it is illegal to put HID's in a non-projector housing.

That is what the first picture is of. The person put Acura TSX projectors into their 2003 Dodge Neon. That's a proper retrofit. It doesn't have to be an aftermarket projector, in fact OEM ones are the best to use.
Here's a retrofit on 93-97 Firebird lights:

Not the greatest cutoff, but that's because he modified the cutoff shield.

I just hate those blue lights period. People have been driving without them for years. Why do people all the sudden need to be "safer." Call me old fashioned.

no new technology. New materials maybe. I dont know if they had carbonfiber in 75, but ill probably just end up doing that in carpet anyway.
anyway those blue lights hurt my eyes. Im selling the same kit for $10. Only my kit comes packed full of nitroglycerin.

What does that matter? if its done properly? you cant see what it looks like in the dark when they are on so it dont matter. Also a little bit ago you were just saying those pictures of cutoff are probly stock...so what, it shouldnt be any different. Isnt the whole idea to make the conversion good enough that the cutoff looks stock also?

id sacrifice a small amount of glare to not do something stupid like trying to fit a round light into a square housing holder.and ud be surprised how many people as to see what it looks like with the lights off and under the hood to try to find the wiring. What does that matter? if its done properly? you cant see what it looks like in the dark when they are on so it dont matter. basically, you've done a "bodge" job and thereby haven't done it right. there's glare that you shouldn't have, and overall it's illegal.
and also, your advertising for the kits is not allowed under our rules. remove it or i will.

thankyou.i appreciate that.at least im out doing something different. If you guys have ideas on how to improve the kit let me know instead of complaining.

Hey I aint gunna lie, i think its pretty cool. My moms car has them from factory and they have beautiful cutout but people are always flashing at ya when u are driving it. Then you just have to hit em even harder with the highbeams right back at em. Then the go swearin to themselfs as they pass ya. I really dont care how bright a persons headlights are, i was taught just watch the curb for a split second as they pass. I thought about putting them in my car, but I really dont care, i can see fine in the dark. I carry a 750,000 candle spotlite with me for out in the country by us if i need it. lol

ANY HID kit installed in a car that doesnt come with it from factory is "illegal".theres not different degrees of illegal. That's not true, it's not illegal as long as it is properly housed in a DOT approved projector.
thankyou.i appreciate that.at least im out doing something different. If you guys have ideas on how to improve the kit let me know instead of complaining. Yes, you are doing something different. Kudos to you. But you're doing it wrong, and in an unsafe manner. I already deeply discussed how you can improve your setup. Reread the thread.
id sacrifice a small amount of glare to not do something stupid like trying to fit a round light into a square housing holder.and ud be surprised how many people as to see what it looks like with the lights off and under the hood to try to find the wiring. The fact that you're willing to produce dangerous lighting conditions for oncoming traffic, just for looks, really shows the kind of person you are. You care more about yourself and how your lights look at night (obviously can't see them during the day) than you do about the safety of others. Congratulations, you're what I like to call, arrogant. The fact that you find it stupid to properly retrofit your lights because of how they would look afterwards clearly shows that.
If all thats going to happen here is everyone beating ddnspider up for likeing what he likes,(legal or not) and offer no opinions to make it "better", then I say just lock the effin thread...:disappoin Like I said above, I've made several posts about how he can go about how he can "make it better" by properly retrofiting his lights. But you're idea about locking this thread does sound good as the point obviously hasn't made it from his eyes to his brain.
