Need help removing KARR system

My 2000 Malibu came used with a KARR 201 passive anti-theft system installed. It is the kind that you have to have this special passive key fob (no buttons, no batteries) that needs to be within 12 inches of the ignition switch to start the car. I suspect this might be malfunctioning and killing the ignition while I'm driving around. It will restart after turning off the ignition and waiting about 1 or 2 minutes.

Does anybody have a clue of how to get rid of this thing? It's not like anybody is going to steal this car.
