today i just got my civic back on the road after a major finder binder, the damn carberator on my 1.5 is really making me mad every where I go I can't find anyone to give me a straight answer. the problem I'm have is the vaccum controlled choke is not letting the car stay started and I got to looking at it and there is no way to change out the choke. if there is any way to do this without changing out the carberator I would greatly apperecated. :greenchai :

 well a friend of mine had it for a while and wrecked it in dallas. So i bought it from him for about $400.00 and the front end was damaged. The car is from canada, he moved from some city there I can't remember. But he moved to texas and he's been here for about 15 years. That is where I got the car. But anyways I found out what the problem was the chock wasn't getting the right amount of vaccum so I bypassed it and ran a direct vaccum line to it to keep it going. and now the cold start injector is not working, so It's not letting gas reach the carb and now you have to prime the car to get it started

I have went to every parts store in my area, and no one can help me out with a re-build kit for it, or a new carb. So I went to the honda dealer two counties away from where I live and they told me they have to special order the carb for about $750.86. And that not including the lube and the reach around. So if any one can help me in locating a carb it would help out alot.

thanks

damn man fuck that ... if you are handy with cars just swap a d16z6 in there and rewire the carburation to SI MPFI ... your $750 would be a lot better spent.

well the reason why I was asking in the first place It's my daily drive for right now and I'm trying to get it going so that way my friend don't take me to work. besides I'm thinking of a b18a1 a friend of mine works at a junk yard and he told me I could probly get it cheap through him and he can get me the motor mount kit cheap to. That is what I really want to do. but right now I have to get it road ready first. Then worry about the mods later.

well as you already know its gonna be expensive to fix what you got ... so I say you keep mobbin with your friend to work and then get that b18a1 in there when you are ready

yeah you should have seen how bad the body damage was before I got a hold of it. Hell I had a hard time trying to get the radiator support and the lower subframe straightened, just to get the radiator and fan in. But in a month I will have a new front clip put on and the new motor in I have the money to do it but little time to do it in. When you go to work and go to college it has a tendency to get busy from time to time. But hopefully me and my friend will get it finished. I hope
