help with lifter tick

i just bought a 1991 3000GT SL 5 days ago. the car looks great, and ran awesome until after work today. the car sat in the parking lot for about 9 hours, and there was nothing wrong driving to work. BUT...after work this really obnoxious ticking started. ALSO...the oil pressure guage is reading about 2 notches about the bottom. no lights are on, the car isn't running hot, but it sounds super loud and it scares the crap outta me. i keep reading online that it is a 'lifter tick'...but also some people had to rebuild their engine or somthin to fix a similar noise. my car sounds EXACTLY like this poof VR4:

is this 'lifter tick' really that loud but at the same time harmless? help me fix my new baby!

that's not lifter tick, that's a spun bearing. Lifter tick is very quiet compared to that. If yours is really that loud, than stop driving it immidiately.
