I'm trying to get Ken Hamiltons Creative diorama book, but the damn thing is over 200 bucks now! I guess it's not in print anymore! does anyone know what happened and why it was taken out of print?
I tried getting a hold of the publisher, I got the number from the girl at barnes and noble. No luck
Does anyone have a copy to sell?
Thanks

it happens.
Chances are it didn't get taken out of print; more that it reached the end of it's print run. These sort of books on these sort of subjects are often published in limited quantities because of the limited market.
Best bet is probably to to try and see if you can contact the author instead of the publisher.

You can try Ken but last I heard he had none.. There was a thread on another forum where Ken is a member and he simply stated he was very sorry but he didnt have any of his copies left.
Only way to get the book is get lucky on ebay and get one cheap, find one in a hobby shop that has some old stock, post a wanted add for it everywhere on the net(message boards, ebay, craiglist and so on) or just pay the big money for it.
Im lucky and bought the book retail when it was still out.. I did however "forget" I had bought the book and I had looked for a copy for 4 months and found nothing. I did the same thing you did, about flipped when i seen the going price on the book. Just keep looking and you will find it for close to retail.

Is the book everything it *seems* to be cracked up to? I did see some excerpts on Amazon and it does look great! I'm familiar with Kens work and of course very impressed by it.
If I can't find it anywhere, I think I'm gonna cough up the dough and learn what I can and resell it later if money gets really tight!
Thanks for the advice man!

Yes its a great book. Would I pay the big money for it.. NO.. Only reason I say that is thats alot of money for a book. The book is killer, very helpful, but 200 will buy alot of models, supplies, and so forth.
I would keep the search up and it will pop up. Keep an eye on ebay and on forums.. Post want adds everywhere it will come up. Check the local Library they have model books alot of the time. They might also be able to local one for you to buy. Good luck with it..
