98 Buick Turn Signal

My 98 Buick Century just recently encountered a problem. When I try to use my right turn signal it blinks fast in the rear, and the front doesn't come on. My left turn signal works fine. At first I thought my light bulb was blown, which made sense because it wasn't coming on. The weird thing is, is that the right turn signal bulb comes on when my lights are on, but goes off while my lights are off. While the left turn signal bulb stays on when my lights go off. When my lights are on and I attempt to use my right turn signal, it doesn't blink, but stays lit. I checked the bulb, and the filament isn't burnt, I even replaced the light bulb. I checked the fuse for the turn signals, and that works as well. Any suggestions on what I should do? Note: This happened while I was driving, worked one second, tried to turn it on again, and it started going real fast.

The rear bulbs have 2 filaments, did you check both? The lower wattage one is for the tail lamp/running lamps, the higher wattage one is for the turn signal and brake light. Since the hazard lamp circuit is set up a little differently, try this test to determine if the bulb is the issue. Turn on the headlamps so the running lights come on. Turn on your hazard lamps and observe the flash. With the lights and hazards on, all the bulbs should start dim then get brighter. If one goes off instead of brighter, you've found the offending corner. If the bulb checks out, then the socket may be bad.

I'm not sure one of us fully understands, it's my front blinker that is out. It doesn't blink, but the rear blinker does. I tried that trick turning the lights on and turning on the flashers, the blinker that is broken stays a steady yellow, and doesn't blink or shut off.

One thing I did to check to make sure it wasn't the socket was I removed both headlights, and plugged the faulting headlight into the other side of the car, and it blinked fine. So I'm convinced there is a wiring problem, a problem with my blinker switch, or something else, the rear blinker on that side works fine though.

Any more suggestions, or am I interpreting something wrong from your post?

And another thing incase it wasn't clear in the first post: When the lights on my car on not on, the day-light for that front lamp doesn't come on. So unless my lights are switched on, that light doesn't come on at all.

Bump -- Does anyone know what might be going wrong?
