I was wondering if its worth the money, and Time for the fix?:sunglasse
You don't want to buy used door hings, unless it's from a TOTALED
TC on the r-side with Low miles.

I though about buying some new ones and drive it to Mexico for a paint job!

IT's a 1995 with 136K.

It depends on how far you've let it go... if it's not too far gone you can get the repair kit from the spin rack, or Dorman drawers in your local parts store.

The repair kit has a new pin, and two bushings.

The fun part.. you have to cut out your old pins with a cutoff wheel, their not designed to rebuild.

On the other hand.. Mike usually has some good condition hinges available.. he goes by JunkYardDoggie in this TC forum.

I rebuild the hinges I have unless they are too far gone. The rebuild is really not that bad of a job. The worst part is cuting the pin, you have to be carefull when they are on the car not to cut anything you don't want to. With the hinges removed, I grind the head of pins off with my bench grinder. That top hinge is a pain to remove the inside nut, unless I have the dash stripped out of a car. There are lots of things in the way where you cant get to that nut.
I stock the pin kits if any one needs any, and I have a rebuilt passenger side ready to go. I have several other good driver and passenger side sets but the cars are not striped down enough yet to make the removal worth my while. Check back with me this summer I will be doing some serious dis mantleing when the weather breaks here.

Here is a pic of last rebuilt set I sold. http://cmasalvage.com/91tc_redhinges1

Thanks, I didn't know That the Technicans were rebuilding the Hinges.
I was able to work on one lower hinge For now!

* I thought about taking frnt fender off for repair!,but with the new lower
hinge seems to be holding up. :naughty:

The driver's door seems tobe Right and Tight,I Think I'am just going to replace Lower hinge on Passenger door too.

Notes:
1) bought two new lower hinges from the dealership.
2) Used white Lithium spray grease on all four doors.
3) Do not hang on doors!
4) The doors work like a new car.

Thanks: AGAIN danielsatur

Hey Junk Yard dog!
I want to put new pins + bushings on the top hinges of both doors.

I was thinking of leaveing the hinges on body and just remove the doors.

This way I can grind the pins off and not touch body parts with
grinder.

Is this the best way?
How much do you charge for this service?
Do you have any of those hinges that look ''FLY''?

I don't like the idea of climming down out of a car!,
That TC door looks heavy.

I heard somewhere, that the Lincoln dealership charges $600 per door.

I think we can get some FLY doors for $1500.

Taxes are done, checks are cashed, 1 bills partially paid, no tax money left. bills still hanging around. :runaround:

Where do you get the pins for 4 bucks ? Sure cant get them around here for that price. I need to buy a case. I called the doorman (HELP) company to inquire about becoming a distributor. They never bothered to call me back, what's up with that?

I have some great hinge sets, unfortunately they are a pain in the ass to remove. The top hinge inside nut is nearly impossible to get to until I have the dash striped out of the car. It's just not worth my time to remove them, until I have that dash out. I have been offering that repair kit for 25.00 to any one who asks about hinges. That is one of my most popular questions.

HEY JYD!
Towncar + I repaired both my doors yesterday.
By removing the door from the hinges, you can get to top hinge to cut pins off.

I wounder if the president Bush knows we already spend our $600 Rebate?

Thanks Again:

I bought mine at Pepboys,I think it was closer to $5-6 range.

I bought two door strikers from a rear door of a TC @LKQX for $3.85 + $2.00
cover charge.

Cover charge! This isn't no Club or Party:screwy:

There use to be a Crazy horse next door, but it got burn t down by
a Carrie Underwood fan ''Be for he cheats''

** Now I am troubleshooting AJAR door Alarm! **:disappoin

The only thing I did today, was to put strikers on Front doors!

Does anyone know if the stricker gives a grd signal for Ajar door Alarm?
Somehow, I started having problems with Ajar door Alarm.

Action taken:
1) Sprayed mechanical part of locking Mechanism with WD40 and open + closed doors. ''No Help''
2) Took door panels off to look for lose connector. ''None''
Tricked the Alarm:
3) I took the striker out of door B column and put it it the Door locking Mechanism, and the Alarm turned off.

Notes:
a) I wounder what kind of switch they are using in this Locking Mech to trigger Alarm! ''magnetic''
b) I knew it had something to do with the strikers.:smokin:

hey Daniel...
So is this case closed? Are you driving around with a spare striker hanging from your latch?

The striker had to be fixed in the exact pos in order to disable Ajar door alarm. - Problem resolved

Note: It can be adjusted up/dwn,and sideways.
