Pulstar Pulse Plugs

Ok so at first when I heard about these I thought Ok whatever its just another POS idea someone came up with to try to make a few quick bucks. But then I read an article about them in my magazine and they dyno tested these pulstar pulse plugs against brand new NKG Iridium plugs and got almost a 5 hp increase with a top gain of nearly 10 hp at 6200 rpms or something like that. Haven't changed my spark plugs in a while (or EVER) and I don't know when the last time they were changed was, so Im thinkin about trying these out. Anyone have a reason why I shouldn't?

Super Street? I was curious too. I think they work. It just makes sense for an amplification of ignition to burn all of the fuel, and yield more power.

I figure it must be true. The dyno numbers don't lie, and they were even tested on a v6 similar to ours for the(almost) exact results we can expect to see. They're 25 per plug...I've never priced regular spark plugs, but is that insanely overpriced? Especially considering that for the 150 you spend you get 5 hp...

Oh yea plus the added gas milage (hasn't been proven yet, but it makes sense that it would be better on gas). Im just makin sure someone here doesn't know something I don't, like if they won't fit or if they aren't reliable.

not familiar with them. did the article say anything about how long they're good for vs the iridiums? The only thing that is steering me away from some nice cheap coppers is that i dont want to have to get back in there in 10kmi...

EDIT: just did some reading on their website. They do sound prety good. Definitely something i'll look into if the price ever goes down...$150 on plugs is a kick in the nuts.

Yeah, I'm not spending $150 on plugs. I'll stick to Iridiums which I thought were expensive.

Yea I guess that is a bit expensive. Oh well Im gonna get some new plugs soon anyway. This will be my first time ever buying new plugs so what are some good ones that aren't too expensive?

i would just go with stock replacements, which are NGK Platinum PFR6J-11. They run about $80 for the set of 6. You could get Iridiums for about that, but i think that's overkill unless you have turbo plans in the near future.

If you dont mind changing them more often, you could just go with the coppers, which are much cheaper @ $25 a set.

Buy them for me and I will dyno test them for you and let you know if they work :)

Hi mistermoonpie,
I have a 93 with a lot of miles but I buy Bosch Platinum 4 (4417) and they cost me total of $38.64. I am lazy and don't like to gap the plugs. I change them every three to four years. The mileage has imporved I think and plenty of power. I pick up the Platinum 4's at O'Reilly auto parts. You can try these. I was looking at trying the Plustars, but at $25.00 a plug that is crazy. Good luck with the plugs, but hey if you decide to get the pulstar plugs then type back and let us know what you think.

Pulstars are garbage, and and the 4 tip Bosch's are garbage.

You want a single tip plug.

If you drive an NA and dont give a shit about power just go with a el cheapo Auto Lites. If you don't mind changing your plugs often go with NGK Coppers.

If you don't want to change your plugs often and want some decent plugs go for iririums.
