i took out my new cps an the tip of it was broke off, what could do that it was put in correctly

Well... the car shouldn't start without the sensor on there.
Was there anything else done or was this a simple matter of taking the old sensor off and putting the new one in its place?
And I do have to ask... did you remember to plug it in (securely) after you replaced it?

the cps is plugged in an i checked the wires. what could have went wrong in that short of time i really dont know

I think you should have your buddy check out.......checked out.....
Assuming all else is fine, I would make some sort of attempt to reset your PCM, as that is what the CPS/CKP is connected to. All I can suggest is to remove the battery cable for awhile to let it clear itself and try starting it later. See if Ford can tell you if there is a way to reset the PCM. Also check all of your fuses, wiring to the PCM. Dunno.
I suggest keeping your buddies away from your car and keys.
