Thinning decanted Krylon Fusion

I'm addicted to airbrushing decanted paint. The finish is 100 times better than anything I've been able to get using the can by itself. What do you guys (and gals) use to this Krylon fusion?

I've used lacquer thinner with automotive paints, but I'm not sure what Krylon is?

Thanks!

My guess is that Krylon is probably more likley going to be some kind of enamel than a lacquer, but Im not 100% sure on this. I'd imagine that standard paint thinner would be good.

Krylon is an Acrylic Enamel and can be thinned with either Laquer Thinner or Acetone. Another tip is to go to a Automotive paint shop and get some Smoothie fisheye remover. You add a drop or two to jar of paint, it prevents fisheyes and works with all paints.

Thanks for the tip; I'll have to give it a go. How much do you thin this out? I just painted a Taisan Starcard 911 using the usual 1/2 paint to lacquer thinner ratio, and the parts that didn't have 100% primer coverage were etched pretty badly. The wing had no primer whatsoever and is really bad; looks like zebra stripes instead of the elephant skin etching I usually get.

Sorry for the animal references; my daughter has been watching the pets/animals Elmo DVD a ton these last few days.... :runaround:

1 part paint to 2 parts thinner? Seems to me the ratio should be the other way around? Thinned like that, you essentially have tinted thinner, versus thinned paint.

1/2 paint to 1/2 thinner or a 1:1 ratio. I've always done it this way and the finish is glass smooth, to the point that I don't even need to polish it up.

Oh, ok, I misunderstood what you were saying. Im just used to seeing something like that being 1:1. When I see 1/2, I think one part A to 2 parts B instead of half to haf or 1:1.
