I am planning to get a 2005 Toyota Corolla (A/T) and I would like some feedback from owners (2003-2008). What I would like to know most is how is the acceleration, real-world fuel economy, how it behaves on the highway (is it stable? How much RPM is it doing at 100km/h, 120km/h, 140km/h) and the overall quality and design. I don't really mid the dull styling; I just want a car that is realiable, good on gas, and a pretty peppy. I'm not looking for much performance, but adequate acceleration is a must because I can't stand not keeping up with everyone else. That's why I'm not going for the Honda Civic (2001-2005) because it has only 115 hp/110 lb-ft, while the Corolla has 130 hp/125 lb-ft. How come the newer ones are less powerful than the 2005 (they have only 126 hp)?
Anyways, I would appreciate some feedback from Corolla owners
Thanks. :)

You don't want one,the drivetrain is junk and I know a yard owner that easily sells the engines for $1,500.00 each if he can get some. The transmissions do not hold up either what I heard lately.

i would suggest getting the 9th gen. corolla. i own a 2006 toyota corolla, i am really happy with for eveyday driving, it get excellent gas mileage and i've never had a problem with it and i dog the hell out of it. like, i dog it bad and still get 27 miles per gallon. lol. but if you are looking for performance, don't buy it, thats why im selling mine. but if you need a to b transport and relieability you definity want one over a honda civic. they are junk. good luck.

HELP!
I recently bought a 2006 corolla s type but it has only one transponder key. I am thinking of buying one through ebay to save some cash and avoid paying out the ass at the dealership.
Some questions I have are..... When I buy the key can i have it cut at wal mart or equivalent? Does anyone know the sequence to program the transponder key?
