I want to change the rotors on the front.I was told they have to be pressed off. I have an air gun/compressor. What else do I need and can I do it myself? I just haven't see it done. I work on these cars all the time doing all the other maintenance. Do the back rotors come off easy or is it the same problem? Any ideas?

I have rear drums so I do not know what is envolved with rears.

For the front you need to get a special puller. I have seen them at JC Witney for about 25 - 30 dollars. You bolt them on to the rotor and pull against the spindel.

Good luck,

Sam

the front rotors do not need to be pressed off i have a 93 lx whoever told you that is full of it you will need a pickle fork and a socket for the center axle nut and alot of time you have to seperate the upper or lower ball joint which ever you find easier after you loosen the center axle nut then on the backside of the knuckle is four 12 point bolts that are either 10mm or 8mm then the rotor will come off but the way it comes off is like a cap on a bottle it has to be aligned with certain grooves aka it only goes in one way and then put ball joint back on and the tie rod end back on and make sure you use red locktite on the 12 point retaining bolt so they cant back off and i call em 12 point is because the regular 6 point socket then the 12 point version will work and the compressor is a bonus and bmake sure you put the cotter pins back in the right way and let me know if you have any probs also the only thing that needs to be pressed of is the wheel bearing so have fun
