Ferrari 360 Modena Spider Revell 1/24

Hi all! This is my first post, and my first finished model after a 15 years break in the hobby. Nothing fancy, just a Revell kit, and rusty skills that come back so slowly! Color is Zero Paints Rosso Corsa 300 (I know, should be 322 for a newer car), cleared with 2K automotive lacquer. Other paints mainly by Vallejo. Seat belts are Tamiya tape and some photoetch and schratch plastic. Quite a rewarding project, but still lots to learn!

Very nice build,it looks good in red.Only thing I noticed was the tyres seem a little on the shiny side. Was this intended??

Nope, Revell tires are awfull compared to Fujimi and Tamiya, should have toned them down, but does the paint stay on vinyl? Using flash emphasizes the shine, in reality they donīt look so bad.

I wouldn't think the paint would stay on the tyres,so best to leave them as is.I didn't know that the Revell tyres were like this?? Will bear that in mind when I purchase future kits.

yeah, Revell tires are awful. Too hard and plasticky and undersized. Maybe a coat of flat clear will tone it down.

Anyway, I think it looks great. The interior painting looks very neat and tidy. I have the Tamiya version of this kit somewhere, and I may do that one next after seeing yours. :D

Very nice job on this Ferrari you made out of this Revell kit which is not the best one. Good color choice in the interior as well.

Very nice!! You are not as rusty as you think . As for the tires, a friend used to paint them (but they were Tamiya tires to be honest) with revell anthrazit ,and they looked much better. I have seen it but never did it myself , so I cant comment on the longevity of the finish...

Just wondering, how do you guys 'tone down' the shinnyness of the tires?? Just sand them ?:banghead::banghead:

Very nice paint. One thing though: please clean the panel lines. Seems some leftover of the polishing products remain there. Besides that, good work.

Thanks to you all for your kind words. To godfather23, 99% of the whiteness seen in the panel lines is reflected light, there might be some residue in the lines, but not as much as it seems.
