Red Alert 2 problem

For the past week I've been trying to install red alert 2 on my pc. I'm running windows xp sp2 and the last time I remember installing this game it was on a windows 2000 os.
It installs and updates perfectly, but for some reason I can't run the game!!
Then I tried running yuri's revenge. Nothing at all.

Any ideas? Cuz I'm at my wit's end!!

What exact video card and driver version are you running? Is there an updated or alternative driver available from Microsoft or the cards manufacturers? Google is your friend. Try a heap of different drivers and see if one works.

...and what other drivers have you tried?

well I tried the drivers of my hp laptop that only runs 86.14 or something like that and even that one isn't even booting up it just stays on the red alert 2 window that shows before even going to the game and then it just stays there.

On the other hand I just installed tiberian sun and I didn't even have to do anything, I just ran the installer and it ran just fine in fact I just played an entire level and it went perfectly!

Seriously...I don't know what's wrong...if tiberian sun ran and it's OLDER than red alert 2 than why doesn't red alert 2 run??
