Backlight on dash out

I have an 02 trailblazer and the dash backlight is out (makes it difficult to see at night). Is there a bulb or fuse that can be changed. I did check the fuse under the hood for the instrument panel checked out OK. Is there a fuse under drivers seat.

there's a bulb underneath it, but its hard to get to. you gotta really get in there to get to it. after that, its not that hard to change

Do you access this bulb from the front or do you reach up behind the dash?

yea, right after you open the dash, you gotta get behind the wall to get the bulb. you're gonna need really small hands to get the bulb out though, i had to use needle-nose plyers.

That is what i am talkng about. None of the gages light up when headlights come on. The oodometer lights up and radio lights up. It seems to be the backlight. Hope that makes sense.

The reason I ask is because a light on the left side of my RPM guage, my oil pressure guage, and my temp guage are out. Someone had told me they were LED's and they could not be replaced.

those are the instrument lights that are out on the truck as well as the speedo and the tach. I did have my fan clutch and rear window regulator replaced and since then the dash has been out. I thought it might be something simple.

you can just get another one for a cheap price on ebay. this seller sells them for very cheap with a warranty.
