Autometer Gauge

I have just bought a Autometer Air/Fuel Ratio gauge....

Apparently these are easy to install, but finding the right wires has been a little difficult.

The instructions say it needs earth, positive (using ignition) and connected to the O2 sensor signal wire...and thats it.

The info I'm after is:

1) I don't want to pass a wire right into the engine bay to the os sensor if I can help it...I know the ECU is next to my left foot and the o2 sensor plugs int there...so I should be able to tap into it...

2) Also what about the earth and positive wires...where do these go...
to the fuse box...is that the best place...???

Thanks in advance....

Its not a big job running the wire though,

Just wire them up to the same as your stereo or cig. lighter

If you need any help, give me a yell and i can come arround and give you a hand. I just put one in a mates GTiR

It is a 94 eGT....ie the Liftback model

Also FYI...the only autometer pillar mount that fits a Primera is the one made for a 240sx as autometer only make a handful for right hand drive cars....

And I tried them all...

I Just installed the same meter.
I went with the signal wire through the firewall. Connect the signal wire (purple) to the WHITE wire from the connector side of the wire harness. (you'll need to extend the wire, it's too short) Do not cut into the O2 wire leads or you could cause problem. There is a diagram in your owners manual that shows you the wire schematics for the 02 sensor. Make sure NOT to connect to the GREEN/WHITE wire as this is 12 volts and your sensor reads 0 to 1 volt. The yellow wire goes to the EFI I think. I would not suggest connecting into the computer because if you lose ground you could short out the system, that would be expensive. Good Luck!!
