help please

02 Grand Prix GT
I can't seem to get the two outer screws for the plastic covering where the cabin air filter would be. I know the car didn't originally have one but I'm adding one. The plastic screws seem to turn and turn but don't come out. What am I doing wrong?

I finally figured out what the problem was. I didn't realize they were clips and not screws. I sprayed some lysol into the air duct and it did wonders for the car. It has always had that weird smell but I didn't realize what it was until I started looking on here. Thanks to everyone on here.
