Hi,

I have a 2003 Toyota Corolla S.

I have a K&N Cold Air intake on it and installed it myself.

I hear a clicking noise near the intake and was told its my VSV (vacuum switching valve) If you put your hand on it you can feel it.

Does anyone know if that ticking is normal, I was told if you mount it differently the ticking will be less noticable.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Hey, yea i have recently come across the same problem. I put a k&n short ram intake on my 2006 corolla. it makes the same ticking sound when the car is running at idle. I'm not really sure what make that sound, put your guess is as good as mine, but a VSV valve sounds plausable. I have ran the intake on my car for about 20,000 miles, probably more, and i have never had a problem with it. I still ticks though, and it bugs me. But it seems, to be ok! Just letting you know that you are not alone.
