Spray caps

I found this on one of my real car forums (texasnissans.com) they were talking about spray painting their real cars, and getting fantastic results. anywho, the link will take you to a site called

you will see that they sell high quality (from what was said in the other forum) caps that fit popular spray paint cans. I know first hand that the german fat caps work quite well, have not tried the others. Just thought I'd give a heads up to those rattle canners.

Just curious what the actual benefits of these are. Do they just feature a smaller hole for a finer mist? Don't really see what the problem with standard spray caps are. But then i'm just an amateur :) .

Some spray cans come with crappy nozzles, such as anything from testors, some of your cheaper paints like store brand (walmart, lowes, home depot, etc.). Some spray cans are made for covering large areas, or small areas, and you can get caps to spray the way you want, if they don't suit your needs. From what was said, these have a finer atomization of paint which causes less orange peel, and better coverage reducing paint consumption, and overspray. You can change the spray pattern from wide to thin using different caps.

I guess it really doesn't matter to many folks on here, since most use tamiya sprays anyhow.
