Is Lucas oil stabilizer safe to use?

I own a 2004 Honda Civic EX with 66k miles. An auto technician recommended that I start adding Lucas oil stabilizer every oil change, However, when I took it to a neighborhood oil station, one of the staff guys suggested that I don't use it. He said that this will harm the engine. Has anyone out there used this product? Is it ok to use? What is your recommendation?
