buying a prelude

im looking into buying a '98 prelude. Its got a body kit, suspension work, an exhaust system, and ceramic headers. only 89k miles too. the guy wants 9k for the car...is this a good price? if so, are there any common problems with these cars? thanks

+1, I would not say 89k is exactly low miles... although Honda's can run until the universe dies, but there are more maintenance to be done when the car reaches up to 100k(timing belt, etc..)... especially modded ones need to be more careful with

true. also, any car with a bodykit and/or other questionable mods will have equally questionable maintanence done. a good way to make an edjumacayted guess is look at the quality of aftermarket parts he used. a body kit is a big addition in the minus category, but not necessarily bad news in itself. see if he did the timing belt yet. if he didnt, you have my permission to slap him. then figure in another several hundred dollars for that if you cant do it yourself. but if you cant do a timing belt, why are you buying a modified car?
