service light

can anyone tell me how to reset the service light, on my e300 avantgarde 1999

make sure the door is closed turn the key on, just till the lights come on, DO NOT START, hit the 0 or R button ( which ever one it has ), two times with in two seconds, the service indicator should come up, now turn the off, and at the same time hit reset button the( 0 or R ) and turn the key back on, and hold the button till the display changes.
