I have a 1999 Intrigue GL. The car has been pretty good to me, however after a drivers door was replaced after a deer said hi to me, the window started to go slow and the auto down or even down was intermitent.:disappoin:banghead: Has anyone had this problem. A friend of mine installs glass for a living, he thought that it was the switch. I would agree and try it if it wasn't so expensive.:banghead: Please enlighten me!!!!!!

Could be a number of things. Most common problem is the regulator.

seems too conviniant right after a deer hit it....I wonder if the track or something got buckled a bit and now its binding

It's a whole new door, so that can't be it...
The auto-down/down is probably not working right becuase there's too much load on the motor, becuase something is obviously too tight. I'm afraid you'll have to take the panel off to get a better idea of what's going on. It's probably the regulator.

Thats how to remove the door panel if youre interested.

Regulators are a common W body issue, so its highly possible. Ive noticed my auto down works intermittently as well, but ive never had any trouble otherwise. The cables can bind up sometimes too.

You sure you're pressing the switch down enough? I thought there was something wrong with mine until I realized pressing it down slightly = manual-down, and pressing it all the way = auto-down...

That could be it, never really noticed. It doesnt bother me because I dont like the feature anyway, so Im usually more upset when it does work than when it doesnt.

EDIT: confirmed what Tobey said this morning. If you hold the switch aaaalll the way down the auto down feature kicks in, if you just hold it down a little, its just regular down. Its kind of a fine line and you cant really feel the difference, its more a matter of finger pressure.

But if you wanted to get crazy you could pull the door panel off and start nosing around. Check for power to the wiring at the motor to make sure its not a switch issue.
The regulators seem to go out a lot more than the switches do. Ebay has tons of regular assemblies for sale

Took drivers control panel out last night and used a new type of cleaner that I tried from work call Pro gold.:sunglasse It appears to have helped. I do think that the track does need some lube, it appears to bind at certain points in it's travel.:disappoin Will be a spring project, along with replacing the blower motor, that has been squeaking when below zero.. :shakehead
