hey ppl. so i've got a 1990 civic carb 1.3l DX. (european market) So i'm not from the US so engine swaps are preeetty difficult here. I was wondering what N/A mods can i do on this D13 engine to get a fair gain from it..about 140bhp?!

I dont think you will see 140 from the 1.3.. we have enough trouble getting 130 from the 1.6

maybe try to find a mpfi swap and get rid of your carb. then add intake, headers, exhaust..usual stuff but youre not gonna see much horsepower gains..but your mpg will be better

Its gonna be pretty hard to change to fuel injection from a carburetter. I think Ive heard of someone on here doing it but Im not sure if it runs right even to this day.

Swap in a B16 and you might see that to the wheels.

You know what? It is NOT impossible to make more power with a carbed d-series. The old timer redneck dude who works on the older hondas where I used to live told me how he took a 1st or 2nd gen civic and put dual weber carbs, header and exhaust with fuel tune and had some decent times (probably better than some of your mpfi times with swaps).

So anyway, being in Europe perhaps you have access to locating Weber carbs or rebuilding the ones on the car to accept more air and fuel. It has been done. I know that a d-series header will probably bolt right up. Add custom exhaust and a regrind cam, clutch, pulleys, etc. I guess you just have to be a little creative... GL

Didnt say it was impossible to get more power out of them..but 130?! I was just saying it would be very difficult to install an entire fuel injection system into the car.

I agree. Adding a fuel injection system would be difficult. But getting 130 from a carbed d series can be done if you put enough $ in the right direction.

i remember reading a post like....um.....6 years ago on here when i was a regular before my accident about some guy doing ampfi from a d16a6 on the d13....it was pretty difficult if i remember, i have done it on an old prelude dual carb, but ended up going back to carbs and utilizing dual weber side drafts, you might want to look into something like that, weber's or mukini carbs, i have seen some pretty sick results from then on some of the 3g accords and 2g 'ludes
