wiring question

alright my friend just got a little pack of LED lights that you hook up by your feet and shine them down on your feet and the pedels to make them look cool. but the problem is that they came with NO instructions what so ever, and i was wondering if anyone could tell me how i would power them?

Well, there is the right way and the not-so-right way to do this.

The right way is to run a fresh wire from the battery on its own fuse as not to disturb the existing wiring in your car. You should be able to just ground them to the chassis somewhere near the mount point.

The not-so-right way is to tap into another circuit, like the lighter, dome lights, or radio. I don't like this method because you can damage other components of the car, blow fuses, or start fires, and this method will likely reduce the car's value.

Also, did the LED's come with resistors? If they're not "12V LED's," you will need to calculate what size resistor to add so you don't blow them out.

running a separate feed for these LED lamps is unnecessary....the reason is they only draw a few milliamps of current, so the effect on other circuits is nil.... but because the wiring to these lamps is of a small guage i would install a fuse at the power source, this i suspect would be the power to headlights so at night these will come on.....

thats a great idea with the headlights! but where would i get the fuse? murry's or something? and would i just splice the + wire for the head lights add it the + for the lights and then add a fuse after that? and ground it on the chassie.
