A bit of an odd question, but I thought this would be the best place to ask it. I'm building a Supra model but I'm scratchbuilding my own turbo setup, and I wanted to know where in the pipeline do the BOV and wastegate go? And pics or diagrams would be very helpful.

I just haven't found any pics which have been of use yet. :(

Thanks in advance :)

The blow off valve (or bypass valve) should be placed somewhere between the compressor outlet and throttle. Control pressure from after the throttle.

The wastegate sits on the exhaust manifold, controlpressure from somewhere after the compressor outlet.

Before the intercooler? Just seems a waste to throw away cooled air...

Blow off/bypass valves can be placed before or after the intercooler. Some turbochargers even have the bypass valve integrated in the compressorhouse.

When the throttle is closed a pressure wave is created at the throttle plate, so why not let the air out there? Also, many valves contain parts that are sensitive to heat. VW placed their valves before the IC and this have caused a lot of broken bypass valves.
