High output Alternator Replacement...

Has anyone ever known of anyone that had a sucessful replacement with a high out alternator for the passports or rodeos? I have a 99.

I tired to replace my alternator once with a stock oem and had problems. And when I GOT a high output alternator for my suv at one point, it didn't even DO high output, about 20amps from normal.

Im just curious if anyone else has any experiements with this?

I think you misunderstand how and alternator works. Just because you have, for example, a 120 amp alternator does not mean that it will always be putting out 120 amps. It will supply up to 120 amps depending on the demands of the electrical system.
