fuel pressure

am curious as how to lower high fuel pressure. it is on a 98 geo 3 cyl. with 131k for miles. the reason for the post is that after a new head was installed it ran pretty good yesterday. this morning wont start. at times it sounds like it free wheels...like there is no compression. that happens to be 150 per. new ign. components. maybe a crank sensor? map.....running out of things to rule out.:banghead:

With a fresh head job and 131k on the bottom end, I'd expect to see higher than 150psi/cyl... maybe the timing belt has slipped?

Any stored codes?

There should be two bundles of sensor grounds that attach at the back of the intake manifold. Be sure they are snug (10mm hex bolt).

Are the spark plugs drenched in fuel after attempting to start or are they dry?

Have you confirmed spark from the coil?

Have you performed a fuel pressure test? KOEO fuel pressure should be 23-30psi.

ok here goes

as with the fiat montra- clean , bright and tight for electrical connections the bundle is connected. the car has been basteredized before i bought it. but ran real good. the plugs are soaked but has plenty of spark.
i am thinking when the fuel pressure is checked i didnt have the gauge in line as i had it hooked up dead-heading the pump. will hook it up in-line and see what i get. could the ckp be suspect? the car ran good 2 days ago and now this...again. so what males it seem like there is no compression when cranking? it works its way out after abit but its really weird.:banghead:

just checked fuel press. and have got 27 psi. tried to start geo and it fired for a sec or two and died.mmmmmmm:shakehead
