Erratic Speed Reading on GTWC

One thing I did note on the track was that the speed readings were very erratic during the track sessions. My speed sensor is on the driveshaft. Any ideas on this?

The Pi dash does some funny things with the speed reading. It will automatically turn on to min/max speed readings for corner entry and exit.

Is it possible this is what your experiencing?

Ha! I didn't think of that. Is that what it defaults to when it goes to real time mode?

I noticed it would jump between speeds between corners, and that the post event data didn't seem to match any of that.... I only looked down at the speed at the end of the long front straight and didn't notice which page it was on.

Yes, it automatically goes into "this dash sucks" mode.:banghead: I haven't figured out how to stop it. I change the screen to the real time speed page on the out lap only to have it change back by itself.

LOL! That is more descriptive than Page 1!!! I would assume Page 4 is the prefered page to view under normal track events?

I bought a new speed sensor to install ans mine wasn't even hooked up, it was damaged and wrapped around the frame rail. After running the car a few weeks back I have no desire to install the speed sensor as it has no bearing on what I'm doing.

Cobra4B - I completely agree with you about the speedo. I only use it at the end of the long straight to see how well I did on my entry speed coming off the last set of eses. Well and to be able to answer the Vette guys on how fast I was going on the front straight.... (Sorry left over HP wars). I did add the shift light because the the 4.6 motor spins up really well and it doesn't drop off at all. I hit the 7k rev limiter several times without even trying. I find the flashing red light is effective for me!
